Abdominoplasty, commonly called tummy tuck, is a surgical procedure performed on men and women to remove excess skin and fat from the abdomen and tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall, often separated after childbirth in women. This surgery reduces the appearance of a protruding abdomen. The best candidates for this procedure are those who are near their ideal weight but have extra skin and fat of the lower abdomen that does not respond to diet or exercise.
